[RFC PATCH v2 0/7] stabilize kepler reclocking
Hello,
following up on myself, it was suggested on IRC that I better attach a
dmesg output. Here's the output of a clean boot & echo 0f >
/sys/.../pstate cycle.
I can't spot a message that relates to the reclock action, and there's
only one weird "nouveau 0000:04:00.0: clk: base: 7 MHz, boost: 7 MHz"
message.
On the other hand:

Upgrade to Asterisk 1.4 - it's one year's old!
Friends in the Asterisk community,
I'm kind of interested in the slow uptake of Asterisk 1.4. Between 1.2
and 1.4 there's been a lot of
important development. New code cleanups, optimization, new functions.
I realize that 1.4 at release time wasn't ready for release, but we've
spent one year polishing it,
working hard with bug fixes. The 1.4 that is in distribution now is

change character to factor in data frame
Dear all
I have a simple problem which I thought is easy to solve but what I tried
did not work. I want to change character variables to factor in data
frame. It goes easily from factor to character, but I am stuck in how to
do backwards conversion.
Here is an example
irisf<-iris
irisf[,2]<-factor(irisf[,2]) # create second factor
str(irisf)
'data.frame': 150 obs. of 5

Discussion: Are we ready to leave 1.4 behind?
Friends,
We have a discussion on asterisk-dev about the maintenance of the 1.4 branch. According to the release plans, support for 1.4 was scheduled to close in April 2011 - basically now. After that, only security patches would be committed. This is already a delay from the original plan published by Russell Bryant.
Unfortunately, I think this is way too early. My feeling and experience is that

Accessing a field in a data fram
raw <- read.csv(file=filename, head=TRUE,sep=",")
I've read in a csv file, and I'm looking to access a column whose name is
held in a string.
For example, I want to access raw$one or raw$two, but this will depending on
the string. Let's say that the string is decision<-"one". How would I access
raw$one?

avoid losing data.frame attributes on cbind()
Dear all,
How should I add several variables to a data frame without losing the
attributes of the df? Consider the following:

> Xa <- iris

> str(Xa)

So does 1.4.1 show up in the /branches/1.4, or only in the tags/1.4.1
Do I get 1.4.1 by just doing an svn up in a checkout of the 1.4 branch, or
do I have to switch to a new tag or branch for what I have checked out?
I did an svn up and there are new files, but nothing in the change
files about it being 1.4.1. Many packages with various minor
versions tend to have the master branch (like 1.4) mean "The latest

Should I move to 1.6 or 1.8, or stay with 1.4?
Hi list,
I am planning a migration to virtual machines, and was considering with it
to move from 1.4 to one of the later versions. My and my clients' 1.4 setups
have been rock solid and I don't want to put myself into any unnecessary
trouble. Those of you with solid experience with all these versions, what
would you suggest? What new and exciting enhancements would newer versions

1.4 Random disconnects
Hi,
We just upgraded to 1.4 and I'm noticing weird issues. I have noticed
that asterisk stops running and I need to restart in order for us to
receive calls. We receive our calls via a local sip provider over a
dedicated T-1. We never have had an issue before until the upgrade to
1.4. It seems like asterisk gets hung up on a certain call and dumps.
Anyone else noticing anything like

Links 2003 Regression in WINE 1.4-rc5 & 1.4-rc6
The radio buttons have disappeared unless one right click's on the general area of the button. This problem began in 1.4-rc5 and still exists in 1.4-rc6. Links 2003's radio buttons worked fine in 1.4-rc4 which is the last version of WINE that'll I use until this problem is fixed.

Digium G.729 codec binaries updated for Asterisk 1.4 beta
The x86 and x86_64 Digium G.729 codec binaries have been updated for use with the Asterisk 1.4 beta (which should also work on current svn trunk).
Anybody that is using the older modules with the 1.4 beta (or svn trunk newer than several days ago) is strongly encouraged to upgrade immediately, to avoid potential issues.
