data frame subset too slow
Hi all,
First I dont have much experience with R so be gentle. OK, I am dealing
with a dataset (~ tens of thousand lines, each line ~ 10 columns of
data). I have to create some subset of this data based on some certain
conditions (for example, same first column with another dataset etc...).
Here is how I did it:
# import data
dat <- read.table( "test.txt", header=TRUE,

Network Latency
Hiya,
I''m trying to track down some throughput latency that our customer seems
to be attributing to our product, I can''t see what he''s talking about,
but I want to try and get some deeper granularity than I might get with
something like smokeping, and maybe even see if its down to something
tunable on our end.
I''ve been looking for some examples on how

How do anova() and Anova(type="III") handle incomplete designs?
Hello all:
I am confused about the output from a lm() model with an incomplete
design/missing level.
I have two categorical predictors and a continuous covariate (day) that
I am using to model larval mass (l.mass):
leaf.species has three levels - map, syc, and oak
cond.time has two levels - 30 and 150.
There are no response values for Map-150, so that entire, two-way, level
is missing.

Question on glm.nb vs zeroinfl vs hurdle models
Good afternoon,
I?m in need of an advice regarding a proper use of glm.nb, zeroinfl or hurdle with my dataframe.
I can not provide a self-contained example, since I need an advice on this current dataset and its ?contradictory? results.
So.... i have a dataset which contains 1309 cases and 11 variables, highly right-skewed and heavily zeroinflated (with over 1100 cases that have 0 value

qqplot
Hi,
We could use qqplot to see how two distributions are different from each other. To show better how they are different (departs from the straight line), how is it possible to plot the straight line that goes through them? I am looking for some thing like qqline for qqnorm. I thought of abline but how to determine the slope and intercept?
Best wishes,
Carol

... and the mailing list is picky about attachments... whatever you attached did not conform to the stringent requirements mentioned in the Posting Guide. Pasting the code right into the email is usually safest, though you DO have to post using plain text (as the Posting Guide indicates) or your code may get mangled by the automatic html format removal.

OK, Let's try this again! Here is the reproducible script; it is long because I had to copy the panel dataset here. My question is related to systemfit; I don't know how to get the result for the entire panel.

Unless there is good reason not to, always cc the list -- there are lots of
smarter folks than I on it who can help.
I may or may not have time to look at this. Hopefully someone else will.

Sadly you failed to set your email program to send plain text and the data is corrupted at my end.
I also think you need to reduce the size of the data set... the intent here is to increase your understanding, not debug your particular analysis.
I will say that I am having a very challenging time understanding what you are trying to accomplish though. What are the equations that you think need
