Package ‘orcutt’ bug?
Hello~   Did any one have used the package 'orcutt' ?   I find that it can not work smoothly in a single variable regression. I use the example following, it function very well.   But when I regress "cons" on "price" (use the "reg1<-lm(cons~price+income+temp)") , then  use "reg11<-cochrane.orcutt(reg1) ". There is an error message “Error in

ordered factors in tree package - bug?
I am new to R, and didn't know which list to send this to, since it is a bug report about a package, not about core R... I have created a regression tree using 4 predictors: 3 are unordered (binary) predictors, and the last is a date (integer), which I declare to be an ordered factor. However, the tree treats the date as if it were un-ordered, splitting into non-consecutive subsets. My code

Belkin F6H650 on USB port
Hi, is there a way to use my Belkin F6H650 on the USB port? I already installed usbhid-support, but neither the hidups worked (reports "/dev/usb/hiddev0 is not a UPS") nor genericups with upstype=7 and the hiddev set as device ("ioctl TIOCMSET: Invalid argument") worked. I have installed the debian sarge package of nut 2.0.1 (2.0.1-4) Regards, Philipp

USB problem as user
Hello I'm having a bit of a trouble to set up a Back-UPS on a production box. We're using the newhidups driver for this module here, in the office, and I'd like to monitor the one, out in our server farm. The situation is the following: # /lib/nut/newhidups -u root -DD -a ups1 2> ups1.out Network UPS Tools: 0.28 USB communication driver 0.28 - core 0.30 (2.0.5) this one worked

suboptimal lp solutions
Hi list, I want to find the total maximum resources I can spend given a set allocation proportion and some simple budget constraints. However, I get suboptimal results via lp and friends (i.e. lpSolve and simplex in the linprog and boot) . For example: library(lpSolve) proportions = c( 0.46, 0.28, 0.26) constraints = c( 352, 75, 171) lp(objective.in = proportions, const.mat =

GLMNET AUC vs. MSE
Hello - I am using glmnet to generate a model for multiple cohorts i. For each i, I run 5 separate models, each with a different x variable. I want to compare the fit statistic for each i and x combination. When I use auc, the output is in some cases is < .5 (.49). In addition, if I compare mean MSE (with upper and lower bounds) ... there is no difference across my various x variables, but

Converting array to matrix
Hi, I have a 3d array as below, I want to make this array to a matrix of p=50(rows) and n=20(columns) with the coverage values . The code before the array is: library(binom) Loading required package: lattice pi.seq<-seq(from = 0.01, to = 0.5, by = 0.01) no.seq<-seq(from = 5, to = 100, by = 5) cp.all = binom.coverage( p = pi.seq, n = no.seq , conf.level = 0.95, method = "exact")

newhidups fails only at boot
I can start the driver successfully manually, after the machine is up and running, but at boot time, it can't find my UPS. My init script makes sure that the usbfs is up (by checking for the existence of /proc/bus/usb/devices), and I can't think of what else could be different with the boot-time failure versus the manual startup after logging in. I'll include my configuration at the
