means over factors in mlm terms
I'm trying to write a function to find the means over factors of the
responses in a mlm (something I would do easily in SAS with PROC SUMMARY).
The not-working stub of a function to do what I want is below,
and my problem is that I don't know how to call aggregate (or
some other function) in the context of terms in a linear model
extracted from a lm/mlm object.

exces return by mktcap decile for each year
I have a data frame, lets call it dat,
with 3 columns ( mc, yr, ret) which represent market
cap, year, and return. mc is a factor, mc, and ret are
real numbers.
I want to add a column to the data calculated as
follows.
For each year, I want to split the data by mc decile,
then calculate the mean ret within that mc decile, and
finally subtract that year's decile mean from the raw
return. Then

Factor Analysis Biplot
Dear R help
I am having difficulty doing a biplot of the first two factors of a factor
analysis. I presume it is because the values in factor 2 for Milk and NUTS
are not displayed in the component loadings.

plot3d, color points by group
Hello
I've created a 3d scatterplot, and had no problems labeling the points.
However, I've been really struggling to change the color of the points based
on a factor (see 'group' below). Is such a thing possible?
My data look like this:
food group x y z
apple fruit 0.216 -0.112 -0.893
orange fruit 0.814 0.097 0.460
broccoli veg -0.239 0.240 -0.425

polkit helper timeout and defunct pkla-check-authorization processes on CentOS 7.3
Hi everyone,
We seem to be having issues on multiple CentOS 7.3 machines. The problem
seems to revolve around polkitd. At some random time, polkitd seems to stop
responding on my systems. Along with this, there might be hundreds of
defunct pkla-check-authorization processes. If I reboot, then things are
fine for a while.
I don't see any activity in the unabridged journal to suggest anything
