[Samba] Debian Bullseye samba 4.16.1 online (amd64/arm64/armhf/i386)
Hi Louis, thanks for your outstanding work... Is there anything to consider when updating an existing installation? I tried first update my member server. I just changed in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/van-belle.list bullseye-samba415 to bullseye-samba416 (OS is Rasperry OS Lite 64bit). After apt update I get 16 packages can be upgraded. Run 'apt list --upgradable' to see them. apt list --upgradable shows libldb2/unknown 2:2.5.0+smb4.16.1-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:2.4.2-0.1bullseye1] libnss-winbind/unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] libpam-winbind/unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] libsmbclient/unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] libwbclient0/unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] python3-ldb/unknown 2:2.5.0+smb4.16.1-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:2.4.2-0.1bullseye1] python3-samba/unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] raspi-config/stable,stable 20220506 all [upgradable from: 20220425] samba-common-bin/unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] samba-common/unknown,unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 all [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] samba-dsdb-modules/unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] samba-libs/unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] samba-vfs-modules/unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] samba/unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] smbclient/unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] winbind/unknown 2:4.16.1+dfsg-4nmu1~deb11+1 arm64 [upgradable from: 2:4.15.7+dfsg-0.1bullseye1] After apt full-upgrade I get Reading package lists... Have tried it on two different boxes, both with the same result: roy at moggy:~$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade --autoremove Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... All I did was to edit the van-belle.list file and run the apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade commands. I suspect a dependency is missing, but what? Regards, Roy Eastwood

You have to Enable bullseye backports repo also. That will provide the needed depends for the samba pakcages. hmm, I see now its not handy to keep these depends in bullseye-backports. I'll do the depends also today and upload these to my repo. missing on my repo are talloc tdb and ldb packages. Thank you for the good work! What does the profiling data gives us? Also, the tracker thing, -- what it is, and what it gives us? Is it --enable-spotlight? In another email, you wrote: > Few packages where in my test repo and that resulted in a version numberein conflict > and this also applied to the official backport packages. Which conflict is that? There should not be more conflicts in current bpo11 in bullseye-backports. Samba 4.16.1+dfsg-4 landed in bullseye-backports today too, I waited for it to migrate from unstable to testing before uploading actual bpo11 version. There was a backport of the previous release already (4.16.1+dfsg-3) but that one had 2 issues which I had to fix. Thanks! /mjt
