[Samba] Is the smbldap-tools package no longer maintained?
I've been trying to find news on the smbldap-tools package from IDEALX but my google searches have been fruitless. In my FreeBSD port build run yesterday I noticed that the port is listed as *broken* because the download link no longer works. Is there a new home for this code or has it lost it's maintainer? *Note* I was able to build against a cached download but if the (download) location has moved than I can send a note to the FreeBSD port maintainer and get the link updated. -- Chris -- Chris __o "All I was trying to do was get home from work." _`\<,_ -Rosa Parks ___(*)/_(*)____.___o____..___..o...________ooO..._____________________ Christopher Sean Hilton [chris/at/vindaloo/dot/com]

I cannot find the source anywhere, this doesn't mean it doesn't exist, just that I cannot find it ;-) Can I also point out that you really should upgrade to AD, an NT4-style domain is very old technology and Microsoft keeps breaking them. Anyway, looking around in my mail archives, seems that the latest version is: https://github.com/fumiyas/smbldap-tools -- dott. Ow and i do agree with Rowland. DONT use it, or better said, only use it if there is really really .. Realy.. Nothing else to replace it. So drop that and just setup a samba-AD-DC, which provide also ldap for you. This a bit like you producing Debian Samba packages from the Samba source, you maintain your packages, but Samba is maintained by the Samba Team. The Samba source can be found here: https://git.samba.org/ There doesn't seem to be anything similar for smbldap-tools. Rowland
