Try the online backup again, if it works this time, the rid pool will 
have been set up and was the problem.

Backup worked!? However, the new user I created does not show up on the 
old DC.

Earlier I created a user on the old DC and it did show up on the new 
one.? Then I deleted it from the old but it was still on the new.
