No SMBv1 isn't broken, it is turned off by default and by my
understanding, you can turn it back on again, but if you don't use it,
it gets turned off again.
As is said, you need to use different methods, SMBv1 is insecure.
As for the fix, well good, but how long before another update breaks it
again. Remember that Microsoft has no reason to think of NT4-style
domains when writing code, they EOL'ed them over 10 years ago.
