issue and solution : samba 4.9.4 and win10 1809 : windows could not connect to user profile service aka the home drive letter semi-colon is missing

After installing two new servers debian buster with samba 4.9.4 , one as
AD ,the second as a fileserver, I was stuck when i tried to connect my
users.
On a Win10 client , i had the message "windows could not connect to user
profile service".
The only clue i had was in the event viewer, errors concerning
svchost.exe_ProfSvc.

libvirt + openvswitch, <parameters interfaceid='x'/> seems less-than-useful?
Hey folks, I'm working on setting up a Cuckoo sandbox malware lab at
home, and can't seem to get openvswitch and libvirt to work together
as-documented. I'm not subscribed to the list, so please reply-all.
Thanks in advance!
I've debugged this, and I think the interfaceid stuff in network XML
isn't doing much besides setting a custom interfaceid in an OpenVSwitch
table that

Samba 4.4, sssd, adcli; windows hosts cannot authenticate
I'm running samba 4.4.4 on el7. I'm attempting to provide a share
auth by Kerberos or for non-kerberos hosts auth by password on Linux
or Windows (7)
clients.
We have uid/gid/group memberships in AD and typically configure
Linux hosts with a kerberos/sssd/ldap configuration which uses

I need to be able to automate the domain join with

winbind rfc2307 - wbinfo -i fails
I'm trying to get Samba 4 AD to work with rfc2307 extensions.
wbinfo -i fails

failed to call wbcGetpwnam: WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND
winbindd.log it here: http://pastebin.com/X0rEaLt2
Pretty much everything else seems to work:

CentOS 7/8s EOL : infrastructure impacts (please read)
Hi all,
As you're all aware (we sent multiple mails in the last year about

Let's lists some things that will happen on the CentOS Infrastructure as
