samba - Mar 2017 - 2016 Server

Hi list,

we have to install a couple of 2016 servers due to license trouble.
Can I add them as domain member to the samba4 domain without risk or do 
they compromise the samba domain in any case ?

as a domain controller: no, because the schema not supported (yet)


as a regular domain member: yes

They shouldn't cause any difficulties as domain members.  Joining as a
DC would be difficult (mentioned for others and as context), but that
isn't what you plan.
