[Samba] a question about tdb record backup for ctdb failover

Samba is involved too. We need persistent file handles with guarantees, a task that is not done yet. See https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba3/SMB3#Persistent_File_Handles for ideas. ok, thank you! Except witness, what else should CTDB do for supportting transparent failover? [Samba] a question about tdb record backup for ctdb failover

For larger clusters, this will probably also require to introduce failover groups, you don't want to broadcast persistent handle information everywhere. This needs to be developed closely together with Samba, because right now Samba has no notion of persistent handles. As you know, patches for persistent handles are already floating around on the lists, but these need to be polished and integrated into Samba. Volker
