samba - Aug 2016 - Demote and Re-Promote?

Greetings,


I have a DC that is having issues replicating DomainDnsZones to my other DCs
(WERR_DS_DRA_INTERNAL_ERROR). All of the searching I have done indicate a
corrupt database. So I am wondering if it is possible to demote that server,
delete all contents of the private directory, and then re-promote it to resolve
the issue. Does that sound like a reasonable fix and\or is there anything I
should weary of doing? Any help is appreciated.

It all depends what the underlying error is.  what is in the logs.
 what does dbcheck from 'git master' show if you run it on a backup?

If you do have a good copy elsewhere, you can demote (best with the --
remove-other-dead-server option) and re-join.
