Hello There, We are running Samba4.3.3 with successful installation. But while adding windows client workstation into domain, we are getting following error: "Changing the Primary Domain DNS name of this computer to "" failed. The name will remain "example.com". The error was: The specified server cannot perform the requested operation." After clicking OK on above error, workstation gets added into domain and works fine. Can someone help me why im getting above error and how to fix it? Regards, ITSaheb

Also, this is often an incorrect dhcp setting. Make sure you also send the primary domainname to the pc. I use option 015 DNS Domain Name for that. At the "change settings" in windows, where your change the pc name/domainname. You should see the correct info like Computer name : singleword_as_name Full Computername : name.domain.tld Domain domain.tld If you dont see that, check you dhcp settings.
