Why should Sernet support something they do not supply ? Sernets packages work as a complete system, they do not need to support the use of sssd with their packages, their packages work without it. You could try contacting Sernet on contact at sernet.de <javascript:linkTo_UnCryptMailto('jxfiql7zlkqxzqXpbokbq+ab?Prygbzq=Ykcoxdb%/-kxze%/- at lkpriqfkd&Zlav=Pbeo%/-dbbeoqb%/-Axjbk%/-rka%/-Eboobk9');> (I found this in 30s, google 'contact sernet'), but I think that you will get the same response. Is there anybody from sernet lurking here that can tell us what is the proper channel for sernet bug reports? I see that a search for sernet on bugzilla.samba.org returns several bugs, maybe that's where sernet issues should be reported? As I have said: sssd-ad works fine with sernet packages on redhat based distros. Have you tried this? apt-get install sssd-ad samba-libs- Notice the - at the end Found here: http://serverfault.com/questions/250224/how-do-i-get-apt-get-to-ignore-some-dependencies After this, try to resolve the dependencies of the sssd-ad.so file as I have written. It provides the functionality which is missing in sernet. [Samba] sssd-ad cannot be installed with sernet samba
Sure it does work, i do everything without sssd and works fine. BUT you need to configure samba correctly and use it correct. and as i pointed out, if you really need the latest samba and sssd Go use debian Jessie.>Two points. >If package is supposed to be a replacement, it should, at the >very least, >provide same names. It provides the functionality which is missing in sernet.so tell us whats missing, im not missing anything.>I still don't know where to report this packaging bug....If you want to report it, then its at sssd. why. Sernet is not official in the distro's and therfore is not supported by the distro's. so imo this wont be fixed. Again.. switch to debian Jessie, which is fine. yes its testing atm but in a few months it wil be the new stable. Als long as you dont install to many, you wil be fine, my print server is Debian jessie for about 6 months now..
