Hi, I'm using a fresh install of samba 4.1.11 compiled from source on a fully patched Ubuntu 12.04 Server. Most Clients are Windows 7 and some are Windows XP. My logs get flooded (happend over 100 times in the last 12 hours) with internal errors and smbd dumps core. Has anyone else such a problem or knows how to fix it? 2014/08/12 07:27:50.280149, 0] ../lib/util/fault.c:73(fault_report) INTERNAL ERROR: Signal 11 in pid 9964 (4.1.11) Please read the Trouble-Shooting section of the Samba HOWTO [2014/08/12 07:27:50.280171, 0] ../lib/util/fault.c:75(fault_report) ==============================================================[2014/08/12 07:27:50.280187, 0] ../source3/lib/util.c:785(smb_panic_s3) PANIC (pid 9964): internal error [2014/08/12 07:27:50.280745, 0] ../source3/lib/util.c:896(log_stack_trace) BACKTRACE: 28 stack frames: #0 /usr/local/samba4/lib/libsmbconf.so.0(log_stack_trace+0x1f) [0x7f265f92daab] #1 /usr/local/samba4/lib/libsmbconf.so.0(smb_panic_s3+0x6e) [0x7f265f92d8f9] #2 /usr/local/samba4/lib/libsamba-util.so.0(smb_panic+0x28) [0x7f26615a6fc8] #3 /usr/local/samba4/lib/libsamba-util.so.0(+0x1ccab) [0x7f26615a6cab] #4 /usr/local/samba4/lib/libsamba-util.so.0(+0x1ccc0) [0x7f26615a6cc0] #5 /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpthread.so.0(+0xfcb0) [0x7f26617d7cb0] #6 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libsmbd_base.so(+0x1a249d) [0x7f266119849d] #7 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libsmbd_base.so(+0x1a291f) [0x7f266119891f] #8 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libsmbd_base.so(name_to_8_3+0x97) [0x7f2661197133] #9 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libsmbd_base.so(+0x102c0f) [0x7f26610f8c0f] #10 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libsmbd_base.so(smbd_dirptr_lanman2_entry+0x26e) [0x7f26610f95e4] #11 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libsmbd_base.so(+0x18af0c) [0x7f2661180f0c] #12 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libsmbd_base.so(smbd_smb2_request_process_find+0x661) [0x7f266118010d] #13 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libsmbd_base.so(smbd_smb2_request_dispatch+0x10cb) [0x7f2661167056] #14 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libsmbd_base.so(+0x174997) [0x7f266116a997] #15 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libsmbd_base.so(+0x174aa6) [0x7f266116aaa6] #16 /usr/local/samba4/lib/libsmbconf.so.0(run_events_poll+0x542) [0x7f265f94a717] #17 /usr/local/samba4/lib/libsmbconf.so.0(+0x3f9e4) [0x7f265f94a9e4] #18 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libtevent.so.0(_tevent_loop_once+0xf8) [0x7f2660de8f5f] #19 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libsmbd_base.so(smbd_process+0x1335) [0x7f266114a1bd] #20 /usr/local/samba4/sbin/smbd(+0x9acd) [0x7f2661c13acd] #21 /usr/local/samba4/lib/libsmbconf.so.0(run_events_poll+0x542) [0x7f265f94a717] #22 /usr/local/samba4/lib/libsmbconf.so.0(+0x3f9e4) [0x7f265f94a9e4] #23 /usr/local/samba4/lib/private/libtevent.so.0(_tevent_loop_once+0xf8) [0x7f2660de8f5f] #24 /usr/local/samba4/sbin/smbd(+0xa714) [0x7f2661c14714] #25 /usr/local/samba4/sbin/smbd(main+0x14a1) [0x7f2661c15d07] #26 /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xed) [0x7f265e19e78d] #27 /usr/local/samba4/sbin/smbd(+0x5879) [0x7f2661c0f879] [2014/08/12 07:27:50.280966, 0] ../source3/lib/dumpcore.c:317(dump_core) dumping core in /usr/local/samba4/var/cores/smbd [2014/08/12 07:28:09.428104, 1] ../source3/smbd/server.c:409(cleanup_timeout_fn) Cleaning up brl and lock database after unclean shutdown My smb.conf looks like this: [global] workgroup = AD realm = AD.TESTDOMAIN.DE netbios name = SVR9 netbios aliases = svr27, svrb, svra, fileserver, fs1 server string = svr9-testdomain server role = active directory domain controller server services = -dns, +s3fs, +rpc, +nbt, +wrepl, +ldap, +cldap, +kdc, +drepl, +winbind, +ntp_signd, +kcc, +dnsupdate idmap_ldb:use rfc2307 = yes acl:search = no lanman auth = Yes log level = 1 syslog = 0 max log size = 50000 time server = Yes unix extensions = No mangling method = hash os level = 65 preferred master = Yes wide links = Yes socket options = TCP_NODELAY bind interfaces only = yes interfaces = lo eth0 kernel change notify = no [netlogon] path = /usr/local/samba4/var/locks/sysvol/ad.testdomain.de/scripts read only = No [sysvol] path = /usr/local/samba4/var/locks/sysvol read only = No [homes] comment = %us privates Netzwerklaufwerk path = /home/%S/LAN valid users = %S read only = No browseable = No [public] path = /svr/public read only = No guest ok = Yes [temp] path = /svr/temp read only = No create mask = 0777 directory mask = 0777 [admin] path = /svr/admin valid users = +ad.testdomain.de\admin read only = No browseable = No Cheers Christian
