samba - Nov 2003 - samba 3 + heimdal

Hello

is there any support planned for heimdal with samba 3 ?

heimdal is a free (BSD sense) kerberos implementation which is used in 
all *BSD. i have read samba 3 support only mit-kerberos.
so in that matter, *BSD can't support Active Directory (and another 
example, winbind is also not supported on openbsd)

Samba 3.0 does support Heimdal, however you need to ensure you get a
version that *correctly* implements 'type 23' encryption.  This is known
to be in MIT krb5 1.3.1, but I can't tell you exactly which heimdal
version (and heimdal had some bugs in this particular enctype earlier).
