Hi, we use this to in /etc/pam.d/system-auth to keep smbpass in sync with system passwords: auth optional /lib/security/pam_smbpass.so migrate nullok nodelay debug audit password required /lib/security/pam_smbpass.so nullok use_authtok nodelay use_first_pass debug audit This worked perfectly with 2.2.8a; updating to 3.0 breaks it. Syslog claims: PAM unable to dlopen(/lib/security/pam_smbpass.so) PAM [dlerror: /lib/security/pam_smbpass.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory] PAM adding faulty module: /lib/security/pam_smbpass.so PAM_smbpass[4347]: password change failed for user test1 The "No such file or directory" claim is complete nonsense; pam_smbpass.so is there and so is everything it links to [ldd].
