samba - Sep 2003 - linker error on RH9

Hi,

I'm trying to build samba-3.0.0rc2-2.src.rpm on RedHat 9. I don't use 
the binary rpm from Samba.org, since I want --with-ldapsam. I get a 
linker error:

Linking bin/smbcontrol
Compiling utils/smbtree.c
Linking bin/smbtree
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [bin/smbtree] Error 1
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.72261 (%build)

any clue?
