[Samba] Samba 3b3, cups117 and point-n-click blues. Looks like Samba bug? HELP! part 2
I've attempted to do the same using Win2k's APW. At first it looks like it's going to work, but at the very last part it gives an access denied error. It gives the errors AFTER it copies all the files to the server... Here's the log.spleen (my win2k is spleen): unix_clean_name [W32X86/PSCRIPT.NTF] [2003/08/08 16:46:05, 3] lib/util.c:unix_clean_name(580) unix_clean_name [W32X86/3/PSCRIPT.NTF] [2003/08/08 16:46:05, 3] smbd/reply.c:rename_internals(3196) rename_internals: case_sensitive = 0, case_preserve = 1, short case preserve = 1, directory W32X86/PSCRIPT.NTF, newname = W32X86/3/PSCRIPT.NTF, newname_last_component = PSCRIPT.NTF, is_8_3 = 0 [2003/08/08 16:46:05, 3] lib/util.c:unix_clean_name(580) unix_clean_name [W32X86/PSCRIPT.NTF] [2003/08/08 16:46:05, 2] smbd/open.c:open_file(240) Administrator opened file W32X86/PSCRIPT.NTF read=Yes write=No (numopen=1) [2003/08/08 16:46:05, 2] smbd/close.c:close_normal_file(228) root closed file W32X86/PSCRIPT.NTF (numopen=0) [2003/08/08 16:46:05, 3] smbd/reply.c:rename_internals(3289) rename_internals: succeeded doing rename on W32X86/PSCRIPT.NTF -> W32X86/3/PSCRIPT.NTF [2003/08/08 16:46:05, 3] smbd/sec_ctx.c:set_sec_ctx(288) setting sec ctx (0, 0) - [Samba] Re: Samba 3b3, cups117 and point-n-click blues. = WERR_UNKNOWN_PRINTER_DRIVER = Bug#294
Looks like I'm not the only one having this problem. I've submitted this bug on Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=294 It looks like this happens across multiple versions of Samba. One person who's emailed me says the problem just went away and he has no idea how. This has been a major show stopper for me for over a week now. I've follow the Samba HOWTO by Kurt Pfeifle to the letter. Everything seems to work except the driver download, which is a major problem considering I'm trying to build a samba appliance... Thank you all! Alex
