I think so. It happened after I installed gcc 3.0.3 package from sun.freeware.com. I downloaded the 2.95.3 package at that site, then I did a pkgrm of gcc 3.0.3, installed gcc-2.95.3 package (ssh stopped working -- looking for a gcc lib at this point), then I buildt gcc 3.0.3 from scratch and installed it. After this, I did not get the error. Note that I use gnu as, ld, binutils. -----Original Message----- From: Erwin Fritz [mailto:efritz@glja.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 27, 2002 11:14 AM To: David.Edward.Shapiro@btitele.com Subject: make error on Samba 2.2.3a I saw your post on the Samba mailing list regarding the compile error you ran into with the nss_dbdefs.h file. I just ran into the same problem. Have you encountered a workaround? -- Erwin Fritz Gilbert Laustsen Jung Associates Ltd.
Thanks for the help. I managed to get around this by installing the source code version of Gnu C 3.0.4. But that wouldn't have occurred to me had you not pointed the finger at the compiler.
