Hi, Does anyone know how to get rid of the red X which Windows 2000 shows on top of all samba shares. A right click on the share followed by a visit to the 'Properties -> Security' will usually turn it off for a few seconds (Or the until next Write access). While the 'red X' is present, an attempt to save a file using 'Save As' will result in this error: An error occurred while reconnecting to : \\samba-host\sharename <\\samba-host\sharename> Microsoft Windows Network : The local device name is already in use The connection has not been restored. Microsoft TechNet has listed the above error in relation to OFFLINE connections. But we do not understand what Offline share have to do with Samba shares? This error occurs on both Samba version 2.06 and 2.2.2 running on both SunOS and Solaris servers. I would appreciate any suggestions.
