Hello,
I did successfully compile and install samba-2.2.3a with pam and winbind on
solaris8. the wbinfo runs well except the -a flag.
wbinfo -a DOM+username%<passwd> shows me the following
plaintext password authentication succeeded
challenge/response password authentication failed
Could not authenticate user DOM+username%<passwd> with challenge/response
when I do a rlogin $hostname -l $username I can see the following in
the log.winbindd

As you can see the problem should be the encryption, when connecting to the
PDC (NT4), of course I have encrypt passwd = yes in my smb.conf.
Now my question, is there anyone on the list , who can provide a
"running"
/etc/pam.conf for solaris 8 or some additional hints how to get that running
