My name is Ruben and I am from Elche (Spain)
We are trying to setup a Samba server in our network.
Our server is Suse Linux 7.3 Professional, with this version of samba:
at:/ # smbd -V
Version 2.2.1a
at:/ # nmbd -V

I think that smbd is running OK becouse we can access to the server using its
IP from the outside. But Server isn't answering when it listen a broadcast
asking for its net bios name. (We have been monitoring it with tcpdump)
Here you have ethernet configuration:

All the clients are using the same Broadcast and netmask.
- From the server we can use nmblookup with the other pc in the network, but it
doesn't resolv its own name in the ethernet interface, but yes un loopback:

at:~ # nmblookup server -U 127.0.0.1
