Hello, I am currently seeing an issue with Samba ver 2.0.7 and Win2000 clients. The clients will connect to samba shares (folders and printers/queues), however, after one print job, the printers are no longer reachable. Windows 2000 printer properties are no longer accessible on these samba shared printers either. Windows thinks the printers are offline (which they are not). Looking at the log.smb file, several messages appear: connection closed by peer : close_<port> pdf_host (IP address) closed connection to server <print Q name> In supporting samba in Unix/windows printing environments, I have never seen this message. I have also noticed that smbd has difficulty starting and running. (even manually) Originally, connections were fine until everyone upgraded from Win9x to 2K, now they have sporadic, at best, connections. Below is a copy of the smb.conf file... # Global parameters workgroup = AHTEAST netbios name = REGULUS security = share map to guest = Bad User socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_SNDBUF=8192 S_RCVBUF=8192 guest account = gateway load printers = Yes wins server = 192.167.118.2 [data] comment = data directory path = /export/home/gateway/windows read only = no writable = yes public = yes create mode = 0666 [Client] comment = Squadron Client distribution path = /opt/squadron/export guest ok = Yes read only = yes writable = no public = yes [HotDrop] comment = Squadron Hot Folders path = /JM/local/hot read only = No writable = yes public = yes create mask = 0666 [printers] comment = All Printers path = /var/spool/samba print command = /opt/gateway/bin/PrintWithName %p %s < %s guest ok = Yes print ok = Yes read only = Yes browseable = No Any ideas about how to alleviate these problems???
