samba - Feb 2002 - Looking for advice for best way to connect.

Ok, I have read most of the posts about samba and port 445, So in my windows env
if I disable netbios over TCP/IP but I leave "file and printer sharing for
windows" enabled, all SMB communications will take place over port 445.  My
next question is, what is the best way to run samba on port 445 ?  Is adding  -p
445 to the rc.? startup file OK or has anyone had problems with that ?
