Hi! I would like to migrate my samba user to ldap. With the objectclass sambaAccount is it no problem. But I have only two little questions, if it correct. 1. I need a attribute rid. This value with UID*2 + 1000. 2. The attribute pwdLastSet is an hex value. I write the decimal version of this value in my ldap. It this OK? Or should I change something? Thanks Carsten
Hi Carsten Have you got domain logons working from Win2k/WinXP/Win98/Win95 to Samba? (using LDAP with encrypted passwords) I'm using Samba 2.2.2 I got my Win2k box joining the domain. That's about the end of my success with it :) I reboot after joining the domain and then I try to login to the domain and get the error "The system cannot log you on now because the domain SAMBATEST is unavailable" - Did you come across this problem? In regards to your question, the rid is as you said UID * 2 + 1000. I found this web page quite useful (although it didn't fully work for me) but the perl scripts for adding samba users to ldap are quite useful. URL is samba.idealx.org Thanks Gonzalo.
