Hello Samba-Supportteam! I have the following question for you. Is it possible the configure disk quotas to samba shares (for example user homeshares). The reason is that i want to configure a maximum size of diskspace for each userhome. Is there an option for the usershares in smb.conf? I have running samba revision 2.2.2! What must i do to use this demand. Yours sincerely S. Gruber
Gruber, The quota support is done at the kernel level. Assuming you have a quota package installed, you need to edit /etc/fstab and add usrquota and grpquota to the mount point (/home). I would man quota or let your mouse do the walking. Once you do this you need to turn quotas on with the quotaon command (RH 7.1) and run edquota "user name' to add quota to user. This is not the complete set up, but should be enough to get you started. I hope this helps. Then you are fine. If you want to be smart to your users compaile samba with --with-quotas, so that each user sees its soft-quota and not the size of the disk. Christian> > Yours sincerely > S.
