What is with the new addition to the subject header "[Samba]"? I think we've all known for years that this is the "samba" list and we don't need the subject line to tell us.
I hadn't even realized that was there! However, if it is going to put to a vote, I vote to leave it turned on... Many of the lists I am on send the name of the list as automatically pre-prended to the subject. It makes it a lot easier to sort through a too-full INBOX. - John --On Tuesday, January 29, 2002 17:12 -0500 Andrew Crum <acrum@pherret.com> wrote:> What is with the new addition to the subject header "[Samba]"? As threads expire it will disappear. My $0.02 - I receive list emails both here at work and at home. Most lists include the list name in the header, giving me maximum flexibility in how I handle them. The ones that don't are a bit of a pain in the posterior to filter and/or spot in a list of several hundred messages. Another thing to remember is that this is the samba USERS list, most subscribers don't have or use procmail and other neat things. I don't here at work 'cos I have to suffer the slings and arrows of Outhouse and its supifyingly annoying bugs. :-(
