Hello, we used samba 2.0.5a. Now we updated samba to version 2.2.2. We joined the samba- server our NT- Domain using smbpasswd -j ..... We did not change anything exept that we removed the line read prediction in the smb.conf: Here is the listing : [global] netbios name = xxxxx encrypt passwords = Yes update encrypted = Yes map to guest = Bad User password server = 192.168.xxxxxxx log level = 5 deadtime = 30 keepalive = 0 # read prediction = Yes socket options = TCP_NODELAY logon path logon home lm announce = False dns proxy = No print command = lpr -P%p -h %s wide links = No security = domain [homes] comment = Heimatverzeichnis von %U path = /home/%u/home read only = No create mask = 0777 force create mode = 0777 directory mask = 0777 force directory mode = 0777 browseable = No Now our problem : When i now create a new domain user in the NT domain and also as linux user, create the directory home/%u/home and then use the command net use * \\xxxxxxxx\<username> all works fine. But i can also use the command net use * \\xxxxxxx\<other smbuser> to connect to the users home share. Means that it is all the same if we use the correct user name or an other user name to connect to the correct user home share. Is it a bug ? Is there an work arround to get the error message, that the share named \\xxxxxxxx\incorrect usern name is not there? Thanks Thomas
