Hi Everybody, I keep getting this error from log.smbd: find_name_on_subnet: on subnet 192.1.8.1 - name STORE 8<1d> NOT FOUND I'm wondering where it is getting the name 'STORE 8', when my hostname is 'store8' (no space in-between). Previously, I used 'store 8' as workgroup in smb.conf but I've already changed it other names. Do you have any idea what samba or system files should I edit ?(I'm using SVR4 unix) Thanks, Melvin M Bagaforo
No idea but: strings `which smbd` | grep \/usr gives some ideas. Anything in lmhosts? (man lmhosts) What is the hostname of your workstation? If you have a windows client on this network, could there be something in the windows box? (Again, just guessing.) How often does this occur? Could you take other clients off line for a while to see if the error stops? Have you tried to run tcpdump, greping the output to look for store? You can run tcpdump against lo, to see if it orignates locally (again, just guessing.) Joel
