We had an account in smbpasswd that was deleted from passwd and got the following complaints: [2001/11/05 10:22:30, 0, pid=1252, effective(0, 0), real(0, 0)] passdb/pdb_smbpasswd.c:build_sam_account(1193) build_sam_account: smbpasswd database is corrupt! username sab not in unix passwd database! [2001/11/05 10:22:30, 0, pid=1252, effective(0, 0), real(0, 0)] passdb/pdb_smbpasswd.c:build_sam_account(1193) build_sam_account: smbpasswd database is corrupt! username sab not in unix passwd database! When I tried using smbpasswd to delete the account with -x flag, it simply complained not in unix passwd database - which was why I was trying to delete it! This seems unhelpful behaviour. I fixed by editing smbpasswd with vi - but really smbpasswd ought to do the job. -- Peter Polkinghorne, IT Manager Kingsford Stacey Blackwell ppolkinghorne@kingsfords.co.uk 14 Old Square, Lincoln's Inn (44) 020 7447 1200 London WC2A 3UB
