samba - Apr 2001 - smbpasswd file

where is the smbpasswd file in the solaris samba-2.0.7 package?.
Or, where can i created it at?.
Where would be smbpasswd file in the older versions of the
solaris samba packages?. like 2.0.5..??

is there anyway to build an smbpasswd file from a domain?

I am having the problem where users not in /etc/samba/smbpasswd
(but are in the domain) need to login as "domain\username", but 
users in the file, can login as "domain\username" or
"username".
