Hello, I have a fairly large problem mounting a samba share from within
linux. The samba server, running Solaris 7 with Samba pre-2.0.7, has a
bunch of shares on it, one of which I can mount from Windows, while logged
into the ACADIA domain, but I cannot mount that share using smbmount in
linux. When I log into windows, I log in with the username 033197m and my
password. In smb.conf I have my workgroup set to ACADIA, the Domain
controller in as a password server, and security = domain. When I try to
mount the share in linux I get the following:
bluefish:~# smbmount //eagle/store24 /mnt -o username=033197m
Password:
session setup failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad password - name/password pair
in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.)
SMB connection failed
Now, the admin of the samba server has shown me what the backend of the
samba server was saying:

Now, the way I understand it, the first two lines are the attempt to talk
to the PDC, while the subsequent lines are "fall back" attempts using
other methods ...
I am using the same password, and i've tried with "encrypt passwords =
no,
and = yes", to no avail. I'm at the end of my rope, does anyone else
have
any ideas?
I am trying to get subscribed to this group, but I am not subscribed right
now, so if you have any responses, please email me directly.
