Problem for users mapping Samba 2.0.7 shares on Win2k Server
I'm having the following problem as stated in the subject line. The details are provided below. ------------------------------------------------------- Samba 2.0.7 runs on Solaris 2.5.1 as the main server providing the shares. There is a Win2k server which users access via citrix ICA client to modify their files via Office 2K. The problem is that no user can permanently map a drive on Win2k to a share. i.e. It is only valid for the session. At their next login, and every login thereafter, they are asked to type in their password to map the drive again. I have modified the Win2K server registry as per : Value Name: EnablePlainTextPassword Data Type: REG_DWORD Data: 1 Registry Key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkStation\Parameters I don't care about encrypted passwords..yet...: -) smb.conf is below. ------------------------ [global] workgroup = TEST netbios aliases = TEST_OTHER config file = /opt/samba/lib/smb.conf.%L security = server admin users = root case sensitive log file = /opt/samba/log/%m max log size = 50 load printers = yes server string = TESTSERVER [Office] comment = Office path = /usr4/data public = no writable = yes create mask = 0777 browseable = yes What am I doing/is wrong here?
