Hello everyone, I have a question about printing in Samba. In my computer room, there are linux and windows. I use Samba to manage all the computers and printers. Because laser and color printing are so expensive that can not be free. I have to know how many pages one have printed. I wonder if this can be realized in Samba. Furthermore, how to realize it. Any helpful answer would be appreciate. -- Best regards, Qiang Lu mailto:qianglu@eyou.com
If you want to do printing accounting, I highly recommend getting LPRng (http://www.lprng.com). It is a spectacular BSD-like printing package that adds a ton of functionality, among them accounting. If you print through the Linux computers, your printing system will provide accounting for everything. Check the documentation for correct setup.
