I've some troubles creating folders in public shares on a Fileserver FreeBSD 4.2 Stable Box with Samba 2.0.7 When I try to create a new folder from my Winnt wrkn client, Samba seems to check directory presence AFTER it has created replying: "Unable to create the folder 'New folder (N)' Cannot create a file when that file already exists." In the meanwhile, a new folder has been created. UH ?? user log reports during an attempt: [2000/12/15 11:16:48, 3] lib/util.c:unix_clean_name(522) unix_clean_name [/Nuova cartella] [2000/12/15 11:16:48, 3] lib/util.c:unix_clean_name(522) unix_clean_name [Nuova cartella] [2000/12/15 11:16:48, 3] smbd/reply.c:reply_chkpth(1068) chkpth Nuova cartella mode=17 [2000/12/15 11:16:48, 3] smbd/process.c:process_smb(618) Transaction 32 of length 56 [2000/12/15 11:16:48, 3] smbd/process.c:switch_message(448) switch message SMBmkdir (pid 1522) [2000/12/15 11:16:48, 3] lib/util.c:unix_clean_name(522) unix_clean_name [/Nuova cartella] [2000/12/15 11:16:48, 3] lib/util.c:unix_clean_name(522) unix_clean_name [Nuova cartella] [2000/12/15 11:16:48, 3] smbd/error.c:error_packet(138) error packet at line 3201 cmd=0 (SMBmkdir) eclass=1 ecode=80 [2000/12/15 11:16:48, 3] smbd/error.c:error_packet(143) error string File exists On November, Martin Munt reports a similar problem on a Redhat Linux box.
