Dear all, i have a problem with permissions from NT 4.0 to a Samba-fileserver (SuSELinux 6.1) I use standard Backup from NT and backup the files of the sambafileserver. When I restore the files with permissions-restore the permissions are different. original files: drwxr_xr_x testuser/testgroup . rw_r__r__ testuser/testgroup test.txt r_xr_xr_x user/testgroup test.sh I backup it as user from the group testgroup (I have tried to backup it as User Backup but it makes more problems) then I delete the testfiles after restore as backup-user with admin users = backup-user the file looks like that rw_rw_rw_ testuser/testgroup test.txt r_xr__r__ user/testgroup test.sh I get also messages in NT-Backup that i have no permissions to set permissions and at smb.log : [2000/12/13 07:33:15, 0] smbd/nttrans.c:unpack_nt_permissions(2295) unpack_nt_permissions: unknown SID used in ACL. User Backup ist known on Linux with UID 2000. GID 112 (testgroup), testuser UID 1002 Can someone help me to restore the permissions correct ? my smb.conf looks like that: [global] workgroup = itservice comment = Samba Server logfile = /home/administrator/Log/smb.log guest account = nobody keep alive = 30 deadtime = 10 admin users = backup os level = 0 oplocks = False security = server password server = jupi encrypt passwords = yes socket options = TCP_NODELAY map to guest = Bad User local master = no interfaces = 172.27.16.14/255.255.255.0 wins support = no [WEB_DATA] comment = WEB-Projekte developer path = /Daten/test writable = yes create mode = 0777 Regards Manuela Arndt (netadmin) SOFTCON IT-Service GmbH, Aidenbachstr. 42, 81379 M?nchen Telefon: 089 / 785000-15 ?
