Hi, Recently we install Samba in a Solaris machine and it is working fine. I can connect to SWAT from the Samba server itself (http://localhost:901) without any problem. I just want to know how can I connect to SWAT from antoher computer in the network (Windows 98) ?? TQ. Regards, KW Foo
I have also been unsuccessful in trying to access swat from another computer on the LAN. Someone else emailed the list saying that this was an acknowledged problem with tcp-wrappers that red hat is trying to fix. -ryan> Hi, > Recently we install Samba in a Solaris machine and it is working fine.I can> connect to SWAT from the Samba server itself (http://localhost:901)without> any problem. You need to edit either inetd or xinetd (whichever you are using) to remove the localhost only restriction. Try http://127.0.0.1:901 That should work if your routing is correct. Bruce>I have also been unsuccessful in trying to access swat from another >computer on the LAN. Thanks for the feedback. I can locate the file inetd.conf in my server but I do not know how to change it. I do not find any "localhost" statement in this file. Beside using localhost, I also can use the server name (http://server:901) to access SWAT from the server itself. When I try it from another computer using server IP address (http://192.168.0.10:901), it fail to locate server.
