Have just installed samba on an AIX machine, talking to a windows 2000 PC. using the swat tool I can see that all connections are being made by the nobody user, which is specified as the guest account in the conf file. How can I get samba to request a logon when I connect to one of the shares, so I can enter the unix user and password, and how can I get write access to create a file using the PC ? Your urgent help would be really appreciated Thanks Ian ____________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Set unix permissions that don't allow access to "nobody" to the exported dirs. If your are on 1.9.x, then use "security = user" to make things easier to understand. -- giulioo@pobox.com
