Hello all, I have run into a problem with the 15 character restriction that NETBIOS places on a name. My workgroup name is 16 characters, but my windows clients will only acknowledge a workgroup name of 15 characters. Changing the workgroup name from 16 to 15 characters is not an option. Does anyone know of any config parameter that I can use as an alias to identify my workgroup name? Thanks Gavin Morris gavin@lanux.com -------------- next part -------------- HTML attachment scrubbed and removed
Why is changing the workgroup name to 15 characters not an option? In fact it is a requirement. ----- Original Message ----- From: Gavin Morris To: samba@us5.samba.org Sent: Tuesday, November 07, 2000 6:00 AM Subject: workgroup character name Hello all, I have run into a problem with the 15 character restriction that NETBIOS places on a name.
