Hello,
I have a little question that, i think, has been sent many times before.
I have two machines under two different networks (stccs2 and stccs4).
They use samba 2.0.3.
When i look in the " network neighborhood " of my NT workstation, i
can see
stccs2 but not stccs4. Why ?
I have this problem with other unix boxes.
Here are the beginnings of smb.conf files :
# Samba config file created using SWAT
# from swebs1 (199.0.1.16)
# Date: 2000/08/30 17:12:25
# Global parameters
workgroup = NTDEV
netbios name = STCCS2
server string = Samba %v on host %h
security = SERVER
encrypt passwords = Yes
password server = PSSICS1
username map = /opt/samba/private/usersmap
log level = 0
log file = /var/opt/samba/log.%m
max open files = 1014
client code page = 437
local master = No
wins server = 146.11.1.5
map archive = No
oplocks = No

Thanks.

I have problem with samba 2.2.0, the bug is reported with id 21518 Solaris 2.7/2.8 and 2.2.x fcntl problem, but I can't find information about solution nor bug status on samba.org site. Please help, because I haven't got lot time to fix that -- Besplatni e-mail - http://webmail.iskon.hr/
I'm not exactly sure how the smb.conf file gets parsed, but... I have a group in the domain called "Domain Admins". I want to be able to give this group access to a share. The problem is that write list = @Domain Admins fails. winbind looks up @Domain alone. It also didn't work when I used write list = '@Domain Admins' write list = "@Domain Admins" In each instance, it just ignores the "Admins" part. How do I format it so that the space doesn't throw it to heck? -Larry
Greetings All!! I am in the process of replacing Windows NT 4.0 PDC with a SAMBA PDC. The problem is that we still need to use Windows NT 4.0 server. The samba PDC will have domain name "ocean" and the Windows NT 4.0 server will have a domain name of "fishes" but they will still be on the same subnet. Question: Will it cause problems having a Win NT 4.0 PDC and SAMBA PDC (WITH DIFFERENT DOMAIN NAMES) on the same physical subnet? Will broadcasts fail? Thanks For Your Time, and many THANKS to the SAMBA TEAM!! IRV
