Hello, I am having some trouble with NMB. My linux box doesn't appear in the network neighbourhood (win 98). In spite of this, I can still access the linux shared directory. I have tried almost everything and lately I have been seeing this message in the log.nmb file: [2000/03/03 17:11:11, 1] nmbd/nmbd.c:main(672) Netbios nameserver version 2.0.3 started. Copyright Andrew Tridgell 1994-1998 [2000/03/03 17:11:11, 0] libsmb/nmblib.c:send_udp(725) Packet send failed to 192.168.0.2(138) ERRNO=Network is unreachable The strange thing to me is that this IP address is not in my network. who is telling smb to send this packet to that IP address? I have already searched for this IP in almost every configuration file (hosts, lmhosts, smb.conf, etc) My network is formed by two machines linked by an UTP crossed cable. samba machine: running Redhat 6.0, Samba 2.0.3 Thank you very much. PD: Sorry if my English is not so good.
As of recently, both my computer at home and the print server a work fail at starting NMB. It seems like it happens out of the blue. I left samba running at work, and I simply restrted it, and got failed attempts to start NMB. What did I do wrong. Im running samba 2.0.6 and Mandrake 7 Stephen Gerstacker The Gradall Company phone: 339-2211 ext. 8814 ******************************************************* The information contained in this transmission is confidential.
