Hello! I have been using Samba for 2,5 years now. I have had the same problem since I started - I can not connect the Samba server from a W98 pc when the server security level is set to USER. So I have dropped security and use SHARE instead. I can see the share from the Window-client, but when I try to double click i get an error message saying: "Write networkpassword: , Resourse: \\WALL\IPC$". I can write whatever I want - the result is the same: "Wrong password. Try once more". I suspect that it is an easy explanation, but I don't know where to start looking for the problem, since I don't know if the problem is on the PC-side or on the unix side. I would be very happy if someone could help me - or at least direct me to a web-address I can read about the problem. Regards, Jarle Igeltjorn jarle@chimney.no

Remember that when win9x connects to samba it sends username and password you used to login to "MS-Networks", so the same user/login must be configured on samba. -- giulioo@tiscalinet.it
