Samba Encryption for Solaris binary install, NIS+ problem
I have installed the binary package of Samba onto a Solaris 2.6 machine. I am having great difficulty with my initial setups. As soon as I try to configure the server to use encrypted passwords, the server stops responding to my hosts from my NT desktop machine. I have tried setting up the smbpasswd file, and I set up an initial user account for me to use. I tried to use the smbpasswd, I get the following error message: make_smb_from_nisp: NIS+ lookup failure: Error in accessing NIS+ cold start files... is NIS+ Installed? I do not have NIS+ installed, but I do not know how to disable samba from attempting to access it. Also, the mksmbpasswd.sh is expecting a standard /etc/passwd file. Is there a script that will work with the Solaris /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow combination? All help is greatly apprecitated. Thanks, Lynch
