Hi,
What would it take to get samba to listen to WINS clients as they
announce their names and IPs, so samba could then form a Dynamic DNS
update request (suppose that I know how to write aDynamic DNS update
request in C). So the question that remains is what does it take to get
samba to listen to WINS clients and then hand the info over to my code.

It would be nice if DNS entries could be updated automatically w/o using MS DNS server (which is able to update his tables from WINS) and then does domain transfers with illegal RR types (if WINS update is enabled) :-(( regards, chris
