Occasionally when people post their smb.conf files I see that they have defined specific printer handling commands. My question is: why? My experience (on a LaserJet /w JetDirect card) is that print jobs work fine without defining specific print command. My server is Linux-based (RedHat v4.2) and my smb.conf defines: [global] printing = bsd printcap name = /etc/printcap load printers = yes [printers] comment = All Printers path = /var/spool/samba browseable = no printable = yes public = yes writable = no create mode = 0700 So... what's the benefit of defining specific printer commands? ***** Steve Snyder *****
