rsync - Mar 2006 - Does rsync implementfile locking mechanism

hi,

    I am currently working on backup application.

    So I am understanding rsync_2.6.6.

    As rsync take backup of all files whether open or not.

    

    I have to know whether rsync implement file locking 

    mechanism that is shared and exclusive locks while 

    opening file.
