To devlopers of rsync, First I could not find emails of developers of rsync so I am posting this here. I am the author of Autodir http://www.intraperson.com/autodir/ which has support for transparent backup feature for 24x7 online linux systems. In other words any linux system can be made 24x7 system provided backup programs meet some criteria. I would like to know if rsync can work out of box with Autodir. For further info please have a look at Autodir-HOWTO http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/intraperson/Autodir-HOWTO.html?download Regards ramana -- http://www.intraperson.com

I didn't see an example backup command, but I assume that rsync would work fine with Autodir. Rsync can be thought of as an optimized scp, so if Autodir can be made to use scp for its backup command (or even "cp" itself), rsync should also be able to also work. ..wayne..
