With the desktop to be my server. I can ping the laptop from the desktop and vice-versa. I can telnet, ftp from laptop to itself and telnet, ftp from desktop to itself. I can print from each pc But I can''t telnet, ftp from laptop to desktop and vice-versa. error: # telnet desktop.blahblah Trying 192.168.x.xx.... telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused # ftp desktop.blahblah ftp: connect: Connection refused I''ve tried the ip address, also. I am using the xinetd daemon. I''ve modified the telnet, ftp files with the "disable = no". I can''t think of anything else at this time. any help is appreciated. I know this is more network related......but I figure there are some Servers/Network Admins on this list that could help me out. This is bugging me......I can''t see what the error is. thank you, _______________________________________________ Redhat-secure-server mailing list Redhat-secure-server@redhat.com https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-secure-server
Do you have the Firewall / Ipchains enabled? Try disabling them and see if that helps! Thanks for responding to my email. I was directed to go to www.redhat.com and found a few people (discussion forum) that had a similar problem.
