Redhat secure server - May 1999 - mod_perl and persistent db connections

Hello,

I''ve been working for days trying to get persistent db connections
working in mod_perl.  I originally configured my
secure server exactly like a Stronghold server running mod_perl, but the
database connections do not stay persistent.
I''m wondering if it has anything to do with DSO and
PERL_STACKED_HANDLERS.  In looking thru the source, I came across
something that implied you cannot use PERL_STACKED_HANDLERS with DSO.  Does
anyone know if this is true?

PERL_STACKED_HANDLERS gets disabled in the rpm build, even though EVERYTHING=1
in the spec file.  I tried enabling it,
but persistent db connections still don''t work.

We have seen some problems with stacked handlers, so we have disabled them
in the default build.  Things may have improved in the latest mod_perl
iterations.

I suggest that you ask this question about persistent db connections on
the mod_perl list.
